There is a hunting party set to embark on a journey of redemption and solidification. The journey starts on September 4th, 2009 in the quaint city of
Last year the Ducks were embarrassed by a fresher and hungrier Bronco’s team. The Bronco’s were viscous and relentless in their goal to upset and punish the Ducks in Autzen Stadium.
Last year, much like this year, that was the only game of meaning on the Bronco’s schedule where as the Ducks have multiple ranked teams to “get psyched” for,
A brutal late hit took out QB Jermiah Masoli, who got the nod when starting QB Justin Roper was still on the injured list from the Purdue game. When Masoli went down the Ducks turned to true Freshman Chris Harper who threw 3 picks in 4 possessions forcing the Ducks to burn the Redshirt of Freshman Darron Thomas.
The violence didn’t stop at attacks on defenseless QB’s either, Ed Dickson took a late hit after an incomplete catch that resulted in a Bronco thug being tossed from the game.
The ducks secondary has an improved enforcer of their own, in safety T.J. Ward, whose hard hitting prowess is has garnered recognition on the national level. T.J. is well remembered by Oklahoma State QB Zac Robinson. Zac had a QB keeper play where he gained 3 yards at the expense of being out on his feet for the remainder of the game.
The difference between T.J. and the Bronco thugs is that T.J.’s hits are legal. That’s just a sign of having the skills to play at the next level and knowing that you don’t so trying your best to get noticed for other reasons.
Preparations for redemption have been underway for this Ducks squad since their solid victory over
But this year, the Ducks will be ready. The ref’s will be ready. Maybe even Nick Allioti will remember that the Tight End is an eligible receiver and needs to be covered. Duck fans are just hoping the Ducks remember that they are the better team and this time the chip is on their shoulders.
My prediction for this game is
